App Store previews
Preview videos for the store page.
pitchboom turns your app screenshots into a short motion-design video you can adapt for store pages: 9:16 or 16:9, 1080p MP4, 30 seconds or less. Apple and Google have their own rules (Apple asks for footage of the app itself and caps previews at 30 seconds; Google Play uses a YouTube link), so check them before you upload. A 30-second Studio video is 240 credits.

Store previews follow their own rules
A store preview is not an ad: it plays next to your screenshots on the product page, and the stores review it against specific guidelines about what it may show.
Getting the length, the device size and the content right takes time, and the rules differ between the App Store and Google Play.
What pitchboom does, and what you check
Your screens, in order
Your screenshots, sequenced feature by feature with short captions, in a portrait or landscape layout.
Short by default
The preset makes 30-second videos or shorter, with one feature per beat.
Minimal frames
For store use, keep device frames and marketing claims to a minimum and let the app's screens fill the frame.
You check the rules
Read App Store Connect's preview guidelines and the Play Console's promo video rules, and adapt the export if your device class needs another size.
The setup we recommend
- Formats
- 9:1616:9
- Lengths
- 15 s30 s
- Goals
- App installsExplainer
- Quality tier
- Studio · 8 cr / second
- Show the app's real screens: a preview that looks like a commercial may be refused.
- For the same budget, make the ad version (TikTok, Reels) of the video as a separate project: ads have fewer constraints.
Specs
| Length | 30 s by default; any catalog length from 6 to 120 s |

Platform rules change: check the Apple: App previews before you upload.
- Apple: previews are limited to 30 seconds, must show the app's own interface, and App Store Connect lists the accepted resolutions per device class.
- Google Play: the promo video is a YouTube link added in the Play Console; upload the 16:9 or 9:16 export to YouTube first.
- pitchboom exports 1080×1920 (9:16) and 1920×1080 (16:9): resize or re-encode it if your device class needs another size.
1. Paste your link or brief
Paste your product page or website, or describe what you sell in two lines. Add your Brand Kit and any screenshots or product photos.
2. Pick the goal and the format
Choose the app installs goal, the 9:16 / 16:9 format and a length between 15 and 30 seconds; pick the Studio tier or another one.
3. Approve the storyboard
Read the storyboard scene by scene. Edit on-screen texts and voice-over lines for free, then approve the estimate.
4. Render and download
pitchboom records the voice-over, adds the music and renders a 1080p MP4. Download it and upload it where you advertise.

Angles that work
Screens first
Let each screen fill the frame and keep captions short: the store page already has your marketing copy.

The core loop
Show the action people will repeat every day, then the reward.
Tap → streak → widget
No pricing claims
Leave prices, rankings and “best” claims out of a store preview.

What it costs
| What | Credits | At the Starter rate | On Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| One 30-second video · Studio · 1080p | 240 | €2.40 | €1.92 |
| A batch of 3 takes (30 s each) | 720 | €7.20 | €5.76 |
| A format variant of it (recomposed) | 84 | €0.84 | €0.67 |
| A translation of it (new voice-over and captions) | 126 | €1.26 | €1.01 |
| 4K instead of 1080p, on Pro (€1.08 at the Pro rate) | 120 | Not on Starter | Included |
Credits come with your plan (Starter €30/month, 3,000 credits · Pro €99/month, 11,000 credits · Premium €300/month, 37,500 credits, excl. VAT). Videos shorter than 15 seconds are billed as 15. Every paid action shows an estimate first. When you confirm, the estimate is held from your balance; each finished step consumes its share, and whatever isn't used is released when the job ends. If a render fails on our side, the credits it consumed are refunded automatically.
Fair questions.
Will Apple accept a pitchboom video as an app preview?
We can't promise it. Apple's guidelines ask that previews show the app's actual interface and functionality; motion design around your screenshots can be refused if it looks more like an ad than the app in use. Keep frames minimal, let your screens fill the frame, and read the current guidelines in App Store Connect before uploading.
Which size does the App Store want?
It depends on the device class, and App Store Connect lists the accepted resolutions. pitchboom exports 1080×1920 (portrait) and 1920×1080 (landscape) 1080p MP4 files at 30 fps; resize or re-encode the export if your device class needs another size.
How do I add a promo video on Google Play?
Google Play doesn't take a video file: upload the video to YouTube (public or unlisted) and paste its link in the Play Console store listing.
How much does a 30-second preview video cost?
A 30-second video at the Studio tier is 240 credits: storyboard, voice-over, music and the 1080p MP4 render included (€2.40 of credits at the Starter rate, €1.92 on Premium). Credits come with your plan: Starter €30/month for 3,000 credits, Pro €99/month for 11,000 credits, Premium €300/month for 37,500 credits (excl. VAT). You see the estimate before you confirm; it is held, each finished step uses its share, and what isn't used goes back to your balance.
Can I use the videos in paid ads?
Yes. The videos you make are yours to use in your own marketing, paid ads included, on any platform. The default music bed is generated by our own code, so there is no third-party track to license. You stay responsible for what you put in a video: claims, logos, product photos and trademarks you upload or describe (see the content policy).
Is there a free trial?
No. There is no free plan, no trial and no free credits: creating videos needs a subscription (Starter €30, Pro €99, Premium €300 per month, excl. VAT), and every plan includes credits each month. Website analysis, free storyboard edits and low-resolution previews cost 0 credits; everything else shows its price before you confirm.
