YouTube Shorts
Shorts that earn every second.
Make vertical YouTube Shorts ads and Shorts for your channel from a URL or a brief: captions burned in, texts clear of the Shorts interface, a voice-over and a music bed. A 30-second Studio Short is 240 credits, and a translation reaches viewers in 34 languages.

A Short is not a cut-down pre-roll
Pre-roll can afford a slow open because the viewer is waiting for their video. A Short is the content itself: if it feels like an ad, the next swipe is instant.
Shorts also loop. An ending that flows back into the opening invites a second watch; an ending on a static logo doesn't.
Story first, logo last
A story arc in 30 seconds
Problem, turn, payoff: the explainer and awareness structures give a Short a reason to be watched to the end.
Clear of the Shorts interface
Titles, channel name and buttons cover the bottom and right of the frame; the preset keeps texts out of them.
Loop-friendly endings
Ask in the brief for an ending that leads back to the hook; the script writer closes the loop.
Same video, other languages
Translate a finished Short (new voice-over and captions, same edit): 126 credits for 30 seconds at Studio.

Example storyboard
30-second Short for a language-learning app
9:16 · 30 s · Studio · 240 credits
An example of the storyboard pitchboom writes before anything is rendered: scenes, on-screen text, motion and voice-over. You can rewrite any line or swap a scene for free, then approve.
Scene 1, 0:00–0:03, Hook. On screen: “Order coffee in Japanese by Friday.”. Motion · Kinetic headline over a brand-color ground.
VO · You can order coffee in Japanese by Friday.
Scene 2, 0:03–0:08, Problem. On screen: “Apps teach words. Not sentences.”. Motion · Before / after split: a word list against a full sentence.
VO · Most apps teach you words. You need sentences.
Scene 3, 0:08–0:18, Demo. On screen: “5 minutes a day, real phrases”. Motion · Your lesson screen in a phone frame; the camera follows the phrase.
VO · Five minutes a day, with phrases you'll actually say.
Scene 4, 0:18–0:24, Proof. On screen: “Speak, get corrected”. Motion · Feature list: speak, correct, repeat tick in one by one.
VO · Say it out loud and get corrected on the spot.
Scene 5, 0:24–0:30, Call to action. On screen: “Try it this week”. Motion · End card: logo and store badges, the hook line repeated to close the loop.
VO · Try it this week. Kōhī, kudasai.
Angles that work
The promise with a deadline
A concrete result by a near date gives viewers a reason to finish the Short.
“Order coffee in Japanese by Friday.”
The myth, then the fact
State a common belief, then correct it with your product. Good for explainers.
“You don't need a gym. You need 12 minutes.”
The loop
End on the line that started the video, so the replay feels seamless.
Ends on: “…by Friday.”
What it costs
| What | Credits | At the Starter rate | On Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| One 30-second video · Studio · 1080p | 240 | €2.40 | €1.92 |
| A batch of 3 takes (30 s each) | 720 | €7.20 | €5.76 |
| A format variant of it (recomposed) | 84 | €0.84 | €0.67 |
| A translation of it (new voice-over and captions) | 126 | €1.26 | €1.01 |
| 4K instead of 1080p, on Pro (€1.08 at the Pro rate) | 120 | Not on Starter | Included |
Credits come with your plan (Starter €30/month, 3,000 credits · Pro €99/month, 11,000 credits · Premium €300/month, 37,500 credits, excl. VAT). Videos shorter than 15 seconds are billed as 15. Every paid action shows an estimate first. When you confirm, the estimate is held from your balance; each finished step consumes its share, and whatever isn't used is released when the job ends. If a render fails on our side, the credits it consumed are refunded automatically.
Fair questions.
What size is a YouTube Short?
Vertical 9:16. pitchboom exports Shorts at 1080×1920 as 1080p MP4 files (H.264, AAC, 30 fps).
How long can a Short made with pitchboom be?
Our Shorts preset goes up to 60 seconds, with 30 seconds as the default. Your plan sets the longest video you can make (Starter 60 s, Pro 90 s, Premium 120 s); YouTube sets its own maximum for Shorts.
Can I use the same video as a YouTube in-stream ad?
Yes, as a format variant: the 16:9 version recomposes every scene for landscape. It is quoted before you confirm.
How much does a 30-second Short cost?
A 30-second video at the Studio tier is 240 credits: storyboard, voice-over, music and the 1080p MP4 render included (€2.40 of credits at the Starter rate, €1.92 on Premium). Credits come with your plan: Starter €30/month for 3,000 credits, Pro €99/month for 11,000 credits, Premium €300/month for 37,500 credits (excl. VAT). You see the estimate before you confirm; it is held, each finished step uses its share, and what isn't used goes back to your balance.
Can I translate a video?
Yes, into 34 languages: a translation keeps the edit and the visuals, writes the new script, records a new voice-over and re-times the captions. A 15-second Studio translation is 63 credits, quoted before you confirm.
Can I use the videos in paid ads?
Yes. The videos you make are yours to use in your own marketing, paid ads included, on any platform. The default music bed is generated by our own code, so there is no third-party track to license. You stay responsible for what you put in a video: claims, logos, product photos and trademarks you upload or describe (see the content policy).
