B2B buyers scroll at their desk

On LinkedIn, your ad sits between a colleague's promotion and an industry report. A loud consumer ad looks out of place; a slide deck set to music looks like a slide deck.

Many people watch with the sound off at work, so the argument has to be readable, and it has to be about their job, not your features.

Business-first storytelling

One business outcome

The sign-up structure leads with the result a buyer cares about, then shows how your product gets there.

Readable without sound

Captions and on-screen statements carry the argument; the voice-over adds tone for people who turn it on.

Proof you provide

A customer quote, a number from your case study, a known logo you have permission to show: the testimonial and big-number scenes are built for it.

The right shape per placement

1:1 for the feed, 16:9 for desktop, 9:16 for mobile, recomposed from the same storyboard.

  • Write for one job title: a video for “finance teams” is easier to make specific than one for “businesses”.
  • Quote real customers only with their permission (see the content policy).

Example storyboard

30-second LinkedIn ad for a spend-management tool

1:1 · 30 s · Studio · 240 credits

An example of the storyboard pitchboom writes before anything is rendered: scenes, on-screen text, motion and voice-over. You can rewrite any line or swap a scene for free, then approve.

  1. Scene 1, 0:00–0:03, Hook. On screen: “Month-end in 2 days, not 10.”. Motion · Kinetic headline on the brand color.

VO · What if month-end took two days, not ten?

  2. Scene 2, 0:03–0:09, Problem. On screen: “Receipts. Spreadsheets. Reminders.”. Motion · Problem list: three chores crossed out one by one.

VO · Chasing receipts and fixing spreadsheets eats your close.

  3. Scene 3, 0:09–0:19, Demo. On screen: “Cards that collect receipts”. Motion · Your dashboard in a browser frame; the camera glides to the matched receipts.

VO · Every card collects its receipt and codes the expense for you.

  4. Scene 4, 0:19–0:25, Proof. On screen: ““We closed in 3 days.””. Motion · Testimonial card with the customer's photo and title (with their permission).

VO · One finance team closed in three days.

  5. Scene 5, 0:25–0:30, Call to action. On screen: “Book a demo”. Motion · End card: logo and a book-a-demo pill.

VO · Book a demo on our site.

Angles that work

The time-back promise

Translate your product into hours or days a team gets back, using your own customers' figures.

“Month-end in 2 days, not 10.”

The role call-out

Name the reader's job in the first line. It filters the audience and earns attention.

“For finance teams of 5 to 50.”

The customer quote

A short, specific quote from a real customer, with permission, beats any adjective.

“We stopped chasing receipts.”

Credits come with your plan (Starter €30/month, 3,000 credits · Pro €99/month, 11,000 credits · Premium €300/month, 37,500 credits, excl. VAT). Videos shorter than 15 seconds are billed as 15. Every paid action shows an estimate first. When you confirm, the estimate is held from your balance; each finished step consumes its share, and whatever isn't used is released when the job ends. If a render fails on our side, the credits it consumed are refunded automatically.

Fair questions.

Which video format works best on LinkedIn?

Square 1:1 is the safest choice in the feed (it takes the same space on desktop and mobile). Make a 16:9 variant for desktop-heavy audiences and 9:16 for mobile placements; each is recomposed, not cropped.

How long should a LinkedIn video ad be?

Our LinkedIn preset defaults to 30 seconds: enough to state a problem, show the product and make one point. Keep a 15-second cut for awareness and a 45-second one for explainers.

Can I show customer logos and quotes?

Only with permission from the customer. pitchboom shows what you provide; you are responsible for having the right to use names, logos and quotes (see the content policy).

How much does a 30-second LinkedIn ad cost?

A 30-second video at the Studio tier is 240 credits: storyboard, voice-over, music and the 1080p MP4 render included (€2.40 of credits at the Starter rate, €1.92 on Premium). Credits come with your plan: Starter €30/month for 3,000 credits, Pro €99/month for 11,000 credits, Premium €300/month for 37,500 credits (excl. VAT). You see the estimate before you confirm; it is held, each finished step uses its share, and what isn't used goes back to your balance.

Will LinkedIn approve the ad?

Nobody can promise that: LinkedIn reviews every ad against its own advertising policies, including your product, your claims and your landing page. pitchboom keeps texts and logos out of the zones the app's interface covers and exports a standard 1080p MP4 (H.264, AAC, 30 fps), but approval and performance depend on you and the platform.

Can I get the same video in other formats?

Yes. A format variant recomposes every scene for the new aspect ratio (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 3:4): texts and images are laid out again, not cropped. It is a priced operation quoted before you confirm: a 15-second Studio variant is 42 credits.
